Apart from the end track cover, this opening track was an older original not written for the album, but fit the narrative of the album. In 2000, I was performing in a glam rock band called the Trailer Park Sex Cowboys and this was one of the live favourites. We never truly recorded a proper version of it. In hindsight, the song was a clear cry for help from someone who was wrapped in being a "rockstar" instead of dealing with his own mental illness, setting up the narrative of destruction that ultimate had to clean up with the birth of my son. It just felt like the perfect starting point for this tale of redemption from the darkness.
